Santiagos Family Members
This is quite a family. The Love, Dedication and Constant Work they all do for these 130+ children is really INCREDIBLE. God Truly Blessed this Man Santiago Martinez with a very precious gift. We feel especially blessed to be a part of your Honduran family. Gracias Tio y Familia !
Siblings at Tierra Santa

Sites Around The City of La Paz

Villa Paraiso is a place these kids LOVE to go. What fun they have swimming, dancing, celebrating birthdays and various other special events. They look forward to these special days and often many a tear is shed when it's time to return to the Hogar a few blocks away.
Special Events Nov 01
This was a jam packed, fun-filled first few days. After all the programs and celebrations were complete, cake was eaten, hats were signed, prayers were said...., we really did work the rest of the week. We too enjoyed the kick off dinner prepared by Santiago and the lunch break later in the week for the Delicious soup courtesy of Iris. UM UM GOOD !! All those kids to care for,and they still have time to cook for ALL of us. Unbelievable energy and stamina have they ??
The Men Hard at Work Or Hardly Working ???
I don't know why, BUT this seems to be a sight I see on every trip I've made here to the Hogar ?? I don't think ….I have any photos of women doing this kind of work…do any of you?? What's the old saying "A Women's Work is Never Done ". Gotcha !!

Towns People
This series of snap shots are to me classics. I love to get in the faces (with permission of course, or should I say up close and personal with this older generation of senors and senoras. Their character tells me the story and history of the Honduran people. They may not have much, but they are very resilient, warm and loving people til their dying days. Please come and meet some of my special friends....
Village Of La Villa de San Antonio
Ok I will tell you right off .It is no secret, this gringa CANNOT stand to stay within the gated Hogar confines for the whole week. I LOVE people and I have got to meet as many as I can.How else can one become ambassador, if you don't get your face out and about the town. These photos will show you many an amigo I have made as I aimlessly wander thru the streets with one or two of my Hogar amigas trying to lead me back to the Home. No Karlita, this way....Ok, "Just 1 more photo".....
